MAD Photography Safaris - STUDIO MADOGRAPHY by Doug Mayhew | Madographer

MAD Photo Safaris

Join award winning American photographer, filmmaker & writer Doug Mayhew on one of Studio Madography’s MAD Photo Safaris. These immersive imagery adventures are conducted throughout the greater Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions of the United States.

While in the bush, our guests relish the creature comforts our safaris are famous for… from amazing gourmet meals, prepared daily by our private chef, to therapeutic massages for working out the day’s aces and pains, to laid-back yoga sessions, allowing for meditation and time to unwind. There’s even the optional afternoon nap… an absolute favorite with our guests!

Our Photography Safaris provide participants with an environment for both learning and collaboration; where a foundation grounded in proven principals is emphasized, and that later provides the building blocks for mastering more advanced techniques. Where expert instruction and mentoring are the rule, not the exception; where in time, an artist’s personal experiences combined with the outside world’s influences become most consequential to the process of creation… where the artist develops their voice, their unique point of view.

We invite you to look through our upcoming events or contact us here to request additional information about our half-day, full-day and multi-day photo safaris.

MAD Scanning Services - STUDIO MADOGRAPHY by Doug Mayhew | Madographer

Film Processing & Scanning

Studio Madography’s film processing and scanning services converts analog media… negatives, transparencies and even paper photos, to digital data useable by today’s computers and current post-processing/photo editing software and printing. For this work, Studio Madography uses the Nikon Super CoolScan 9000 ED and Epson Perfection V750-M Pro scanners in conjunction with a myriad of professional chemical processing techniques to provide our customers with 4000 to 6400 dpi/16-bit, 24-172MB digital files.

This skull was shot using a 35 year old SLR camera, on 35mm Velvia transparency film, then E-6 processed and digitally scanned. Suffice it to say… film is not dead!

Artist Initiative - STUDIO MADOGRAPHY by Doug Mayhew | Madographer

MAD Artist Initiative

Studio Madography helps foster young artists’ growth and development through our Artist Initiative. We volunteer our time, donate resources, and 10% of our earnings from workshops, tours, classes, photowalks and safaris to arts-centered nonprofits located throughout the greater Rocky Mountain and Southwest regions of the United States.

By teaming together and highlighting some of the regions’ most coveted venues… Aspen, Jackson Hole, Moab, Sedona and Santa Fe, Studio Madography’s work is laying the foundation for lasting relationships and continued support of tomorrow’s artists.
