Denver Union Station
Oh the times, they are a-changin’… Denver Union Station
This summer, when Bob Dylan comes to town to perform at Red Rocks, I imagine he wouldn’t recognize Denver’s Union Station and downtown transportation district. I know I didn’t, and I like it. It’s been over twenty years since I was waiting tables in Lodo and I can tell you the town has changed; it has changed BIG TIME! Denver Union Station
With the addition of the Rockies’ Coors Field, the metro light rail and commuter train systems, and now a direct line connecting downtown to Denver International Airport (DIA), Denver as a city has jumped into the big leagues… a true, albeit young, international destination. In fact, fewer than 20 US cities have direct rail service from their respective downtown centers to their airports; that’s a big, big deal, for international travelers’ consideration when deciding whether to visit. Suffice it to say, I love what’s happening in and around downtown Denver; all Coloradans are the better off for it in my humble opinion. This change, this growth, they’re a good thing. Keep it up Denver, Colorado… can you say, all aboard! Denver Union Station
